Q. Where do you spend most of your time fishing?
A. Gulf of Chiriqui, Republic of Panama
Q. What type of fishing do you practice?
A. We do many types of fishing using rod and reel (spinning and conventional) both inshore and offshore for over 20+ species that we catch here from our island lodge. We regularly catch Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Blue Trevally, Snowy Grouper, and more. Although we do troll sometimes, depending on what species the clients want to target, we mostly do a 'run and gun' style of fishing including live baiting, chunking dead bait, popping, casting swimbaits, jigging, and even deep dropping.
Q. How long have you been fishing?
A. Since I was a little kid, but have been charter fishing for the past 22 years here in Panama from Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge.
Q. How did you get started fishing?
A. With my dad as a little kid fishing offshore out of Miami.
Q. Why do you partner with Blackfin?
A. I first started using Blackfin rods when they first opened in Stuart years ago. I was living in Florida back then and was fishing hard with their rods because they were known as the best locally made rods.
